She's the type of person who, if you asked her favorite artists, she'd give you composers, but she doesn't sit around rocking out to classical and nothing but, she just likes going to the opera. I think she listens to a fair bit of mainstream rock, with driving beats, but not with any kind of dedication. Just as pleasant noise to listen to while you're working out, or in a car.

Ggio likes upbeat, drums-and-bass kind of music. Hip hop, trance, club stuff. His favorite artist is Pitbull; he doesn't know enough about human culture to go looking for music, so he hears mostly mainstream stuff. Tom's likely exposed him to classic rock, too; it's good for falling asleep.

Tommy listens to speed metal clearly ajsdflb okay no but anything that's loud and fast and profane and bound to get neighbors complaining. Probably quite a bit of Eminem when he was younger.

April is all Indie music, with a weak spot for Rat Pack era hits as well. Her favorite band is these guys, which gives a pretty good idea of her general taste in music. She also pushes them on anyone she hangs out with for too long.

Basically Jessica is a closet music snob. I think she's only revealed this to a few people in the City (mostly she just comes across as being into pop music) but she actually knows a great deal about music. At one point she forced Johnny to listen to Dave Brubeck with her and it almost made him cry. She also got into a heated debate over which was the superior prog rock group, Yes or Rush (the answer is Yes, btw.)

She likes Kesha and Lady Gaga though, more for their performance style than for the music. They're like... modern female Bowies.

Well, Desire doesn't listen to music, really.

Arthur's music taste runs towards crooners - he likes Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, but also of the female variety like Ella Fitzgerald, and of course, Edith Piaf. He also has a soft spot for classic rock, much to the surprise of most people who spend more than five minutes but less than an hour with him.

Blue's music tastes are pretty much stuck in the early blues and big band era. He loves anything that includes a good trumpet line, for obvious reasons! His favorite song, though, is When I Fall In Love running a close second to I Get Along Without You Very Well.

Cross: Everything! The future is so fascinating!! He doesn't quite get rap, but he likes a lot of genres (he's fascinated by synth beats and electronica) and he listens to a lot of hindi, chinese and japanese music. So, depending on his mood, it can be Guns and Roses to Ke$ha to the Crystal Method or Rage Against the Machine.

Larsa: Classical (Baroque and Classical periods are his favorite!), because he is one of those 12 year olds that don't like loud music too much. He deals with a lot of people yelling in Ivalice, so it's nice to relax with a good book, some juice and sit and listen to it while his cat judges him for being so lame.

Sanji likes jazz but has no favorite artists. He also prefers a little big-band and Sinatra-style crooners (but he's eh on Sinatra). Some pop. The only artist he knows and owns CDs from is Dazzler, from when she was here.

Alastair listens to electronica, mostly trance and club techno, and primarily in any language but English. He's got a real taste for Scandinavian techno, and some stuff coming out of the Balkans (Romanian, Czech), a little Russian. Hates dubstep and wants it to die.

Geddoe doesn't care about no musics. But if someone puts some blues on the jukebox at whatever bar he's at, he isn't upset.

ERIDAN IS A BIG FAT HIPSTER and explores a little of pretty much everything, so he can stay ~*in the know*~ about music and lord it over other people. He personally listens to primarily indie, either stuff that's soft and sweet in tone but actually talking about horrible shit or songs with obtuse, vaguely unsettling or remarkably negative lyrical content. El-Creepo!, Timber Timbre, The Antlers, Los Campesinos!, Polkadot Cadaver, Sopor Aeternus and the Ensemble of Shadows, the non-metal part of Dog Fashion Disco's work, The Format, Porcupine Tree, Hugo, and when he's in the mood, weird ambient stuff like Dead Can Dance. Stuff like that! He also likes more mainstream stuff like Weezer and probably some bands that eventually got big, but won't publicly admit to it.

So basically, stuff like this.

And he is the hugest fucking music snob. Mentioning that you like Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber (RUKA) in his presence is a guaranteed roll of his eyes and disappointed-in-you sigh.

CLINT's favorite band is Simon and Garfunkle! Canonly, he also likes Lynyrd Skynyrd. So I extrapolate from that and add the Eagles, Bon Jovi, and Billy Joel to that list. And Pat Benatar, for good measure. Basically, he likes old school classic rock, all-American sounding stuff and basically things with steady beats. He's fairly straightforward, that way.

DONNA, in the 60s and 80s, talked about music a lot! (Mostly in the context of, "hey guys, check out my records!") She likes the Monkeys, Blondie, and Joan Jett. She hasn't been given much chance to update her tastes, so I say she sways nostalgic for lack of a better explanation. Really, she just likes anything that she can dance to. In the modern day, she'd probably be fond of most pop and girl folk.

DAMIAN probably turns his nose up at most radio music, but he is seen in canon wearing headphones, a lot! So I say he likes classical music and other instrumental stuff--his favorite composers are Vivaldi and Rachmaninoff, though he probably has a taste for Beethoven, too. If he liked mainstream stuff, he'd probably have a penchant for rap because yay for anger!! But such things are beneath him, of course.

Quentin listens to a lot of "RAWR" anger/riot songs as my friend has so kindly described my music. He's probably got a healthy mix of different genres, anything that seems pleasing to his mind. It's kind of hard to explain... If you just take a glance at the lyrics of the songs I've picked for the ipod list, you can kind of see why I picked those songs? It's got things like "You can do better, you can be the greatest man in the world" and "I need to ask you children a question. Do you really wanna stand stiff, at attention?"

Idk I'm terrible at explaining music. :T I kind of want to update the track list I have now but my laptop isn't with me. BASICALLY I WOULDN'T PUT THOSE SONGS IN THERE IF I COULDN'T WRITE QUENTIN TAGS TO THEM.

Gamzee likes horrorcore that he can't find much ICP influence in as well as some other hip hop and some rap, but he's actually pretty disappointed by most of the rap he finds as it's not as violent or as interesting to him as Alternian rap.

In particular he likes some of the Geto Boys songs, but even then he finds some of their songs too nice. Gravediggaz, Ganksta N-I-P, and few other bands debuting before 2000 are also among his favorites. He'd probably like KidCrusher if he didn't find KidCrusher too similar to ICP.

Zatanna listens to protopunk (specifically Velvet Underground/Lou Reed, Captain Beefheart, Modern Lovers, Cohen, etc.) more than actual punk. She also likes jazz (notably Chet Baker, Thelonious Monk, and Charlie Parker) and tends to gravitate toward stuff released in the late 60s to the late 80s. I don't think she listens to (or would listen to) newer music. Aside from the aforementioned, she listens to a lot of Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, Joy Division, Scott Walker, Nick Drake, and Bob Dylan. She hates 99% of dance music and is kind of a hipster!

I associate a lot of Elysian Fields songs with her, particularly Bend Your Mind, Napalm Love, The Pink Room, and Femme Fatale. She would probably not listen to any of this.

Reilly is a secret rap snob. If anyone asked him, he'd probably deny liking it at all because he has feelings about mainstream rap and a lot of those feelings are ugh. Luna will listen to anything! Back home she was probably kind of a wizard hipster. Not the kind who judges anyone, you know, but who just doesn't listen to mainstream music that much. Whereas in the City EVERYTHING sounds cool to her because MUGGLE MUSIC OMG even if she's still not quite sure what half the songs are actually about.

Kanaya likes pop music. Pretty much anything she can dance to, but she also has a soft spot for anything romantic and/or sad. Give her all three and she's in a sad, romantic, dancey heaven. So, Robyn's a good bet. Tegan & Sara, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Rhianna, Ellie Goulding. Probably mostly female vocalists, but Beiber won't be ruled out. She probably listens to the radio a lot while she sews, making small dancing movements in her chair when no one's looking and being horrifically embarrassed when anyone notices. She's a secrets Smiths fan.

Vic would probably be largely a jazz guy, all about moody saxaphones or wild pianos. He doesn't really listen to a lot very often, but when he needs an atmosphere to put him in the right headspace, might fall back on it. Thelonius Monk, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, etc.

Hank is a little more eclectic, he's fond of a lot of things, and knows enough about music and performing it that he might prefer things with more complicated composition and impressive displays of technical feats. Classical concertos, maybe a bit of the occasional metal, I'm sure he has a fondness for math rock. Leans more geeky than hipster when it comes to things outside the mainstream. In-game, he's mentioned liking Kraftwerk to Carol once. He probably digs a lot of new wave, actually. Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, Devo, more stuff I'd be able to think of if it weren't 4a. Canonically, he also plays drums, and used to play guitar before his hands got too paw-like to handle it (i can't remember if playing piano also is from canon or just something i decided would work).

Samara doesn't particularly like any specific modern band that she has heard, but she really likes listening to music that was popular when she was young. Stuff that she listened to when she was a mercenary, stuff that she liked when she was courting her late wife, and stuff that was popular when her children were young. Music from like, 600+ years ago. It makes her nostalgic and reminds her of good times.

She also enjoys some earth composers, and enjoys symphonies on occasion. She likes composers who are generally considered classical, or ones that are more modern. She doesn't really like music that has a lot of words in it.
