My grandfather was obsessed with the show and he generally has good taste, but at the time I had work when it was on television and DVRs were only starting to become standard.

I actually can't recommend it without reservation because it's controversial for very good reason (torture, dead female characters everywhere, worst Middle Eastern stereotypes ever), and the writing quality varies wildly from like scene to scene.

On the other hand, it's never boring and Jack totally killed a dude using a flare gun this one time. I hope you like it if you do check it out; I can always use more 24 fans to discuss with!

[Jack's life is indeed terrible and tragic nonstop. Every season ends with him in ruin somehow.]
