Are you thinking about apping to to Cape & Cowl, but you want to get a feel of the setting and how your character will fit in it? Then you’ve come to the right place! 1. As you exit the Porter Building, the ambient noises you heard, so faint back inside where you found yourself at the center of glowing platform alone – save for the black screen and the female voice who greeted you – erupt in every direction. Every corner you look is bustling with people and cars and bicycles; people going about their everyday life, unaware you’re one of them: an imPort.

2. Or perhaps your bizarre behaviour or appearance catches their attention. Maybe it’s the communicator you picked up before leaving. Either way, several Cityzens headed your way come to a full stop immediately, each one eyeing you differently. Some looks outright afraid, others seem intrigued, and then there are the others whose surprise fades quickly and they carry on past you without as much a second glance.

3. Confused? The Network seems like a good place to start with soliciting information. There appear to be three functions for you to access: AUDIO, VIDEO, and TEXT. Make some friends while you’re at it!

4. Maybe you’re just thrilled to be here and help. The night time is a great time to scope out the underbelly of the City and its criminals. There’s always something going on in its more troubled corners: breaking and entering, drugs or arms trafficking, an attempting kidnapping... the list goes on. The question is: what will you do, Hero?

5. Make up your own scenario, if you wish! You may have discovered the Porter has granted you the ability to make it hail cats. Or that your power of super speed is gone entirely. Maybe you’ve noticed the Statue of Liberty’s sporting a new look. It’s up to you!

[ The City has its fair share of Japanese imports, but Yako doesn't run into them much. It's just chance that's she's by the Porter building at all, walking past Kuranosuke while cradling a styrofoam tray of takoyaki she purchased from a little stall in the area. It's not quite the same as it would be back home, but it's good enough.

The sight of someone clearly new to the City catches her attention easily, though she pops a takoyaki ball into her mouth before she approaches. ]

They aren't so bad if you wear them under your shirt. [ Is what she has to offer in terms of advice, once she gets in earshot. Her own outfit isn't quite as glamorous as his is, and the heels not quite as impressive, but fashionable enough to suggest she does mind her appearance. She's observant enough to identify him as a man, though she's still working out if he'd prefer to be addressed as one. ]

[Kuranosuke appears to have been lost in thought so he jumps slightly upon hearing Yako speak. He gives her a once over before smiling brightly. He's unaware that she's seen through his choice in outfit and naturally slips into using his more feminine tone.]

But then the chain can still be seen. Although... Perhaps if I find a new chain to use... [His gaze turns thoughtfully back to the dogtags. Yeah, maybe he could glam them up a bit. Oh...but then he'd have to go through the trouble of making sure they match any outfit he throws together.]

[ She's not really one to offer fashion advice. Food's really more what she's interested in than dressing up. Her head tips a little at the shift in his voice, but she decides going along with it is less likely to be rude right now. ]

Or you could not wear them at all. Keep them on a keychain, or attached to your wallet? [ Though now that she's looking him over, does the dress even have any pockets... ]

[A keychain? What does she take him for? And a wallet to boot...] I don't really have either of those things.

[ ... Suddenly, she wonders if she might be over her head on this one. ]

You could always buy one. [ There's no shortage of tacky tourist souvenir shops around. ]

[Kuranosuke would look absolutely aghast at the idea. He'd never buy anything but the best if he bought a wallet.] I suppose I could. [He sound a bit distant as he considers it. And then he realizes he's going to have a buy new clothes as it is. He only has the one outfit. It would figure he'd end up pulled away form home on a day when he hadn't packed extra clothes and the likes.

And then there was all his mother's clothing and jewelry he doesn't have here. He frowns then shakes his head.] I suppose a lot of shopping is in order!

[ She'd been worried about him to start, but he seems to have taken things in stride, so part of her relaxes a little. ]

Yes, especially since it's getting colder. [ No offense, but Kuranosuke's outfit probably wouldn't stand up well to a City winter... not that Yako's ever had to deal with one. ]

They don't give you much money to start with, so it might be a good idea to find a job, if you're planning to buy a lot. [ Though by the look of him, she wonders exactly how cut out for work this guy is going to be. ]

[Winter is too great back home so he knows he'll have to be prepared. Although he can't tell what date it's supposed to be here.]

But I have my card, it should work here, right? [How little he knows...]

[ Oh, Kuranosuke. ]

I'm afraid not. The only money you get is what's provided in the account linked to your dog tags... and what you manage to make on your own, of course.

[He looks like he might faint. Not at the prospect of having to work...surely he can find something he can, but at the fact that he doesn't have any of his father's money here. He has such expensive tastes after all.]

A-are you all right? [ She's been calm up to this point, but now she's worried: if he falls over, she'll have to drop her food to catch him. ]

[Kuranosuke slowly nods.] Fine... Totally fine. [He sounds a little weak, however. What is he going to do? He can't see himself getting a job at most places. If it's too boring he'll likely quit in a matter of no time.]
