IT'S TIME FOR DIPPING STICKS AND...

TEST DRIVE MEME
Are you thinking about apping to to Cape & Cowl, but you want to get a feel of the setting and how your character will fit in it? Then you’ve come to the right place! Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, and don’t be afraid to throw yourself at anyone’s thread, either!
And remember to have fun!
1. As you exit the Porter Building, the ambient noises you heard, so faint back inside where you found yourself at the center of glowing platform alone – save for the black screen and the female voice who greeted you – erupt in every direction. Every corner you look is bustling with people and cars and bicycles; people going about their everyday life, unaware you’re one of them: an imPort.
2. Or perhaps your bizarre behaviour or appearance catches their attention. Maybe it’s the communicator you picked up before leaving. Either way, several Cityzens headed your way come to a full stop immediately, each one eyeing you differently. Some looks outright afraid, others seem intrigued, and then there are the others whose surprise fades quickly and they carry on past you without as much a second glance.
3. Confused? The Network seems like a good place to start with soliciting information. There appear to be three functions for you to access: AUDIO, VIDEO, and TEXT. Make some friends while you’re at it!
4. Maybe you’re just thrilled to be here and help. The night time is a great time to scope out the underbelly of the City and its criminals. There’s always something going on in its more troubled corners: breaking and entering, drugs or arms trafficking, an attempting kidnapping... the list goes on. The question is: what will you do, Hero?
5. Make up your own scenario, if you wish! You may have discovered the Porter has granted you the ability to make it hail cats. Or that your power of super speed is gone entirely. Maybe you’ve noticed the Statue of Liberty’s sporting a new look. It’s up to you!

He couldn't wait to see how Hannibal would handled the situation.]
No doubt, doctor. This is all quite extraordinary, I know. But I am sure once the others realize the high probability of a mere name repeating itself -- especially within our multiverse, goodness -- they'll be more inclined to shrug away any unfortunate preconceptions -- misconceptions, even -- about you.
And then you can enjoy a more proper liberty, as someone like you rather deserves.

This serial killing cannibal. But does he know of the Chesapeake Ripper? Does he know of details, were they somehow released in some world, some other time, some other place? What does the man know, and what will it take to get it out of him? Perhaps he could invite him over for dinner, a fish dinner (how fitting) that retains a fish-like flavor. Nothing sinister. Nothing tough, nothing overly firm, nothing not fish.
But if this other Hannibal Lecter is...well, the offer could be seen as a threat, of course. That's hardly the impression he wishes to leave, and it's a risk. It may not be worth it.
If he knows Hannibal in any way that gives out just how great of a monster he is, he will know enough that he wants to be liked by him. He wants Hannibal to view him as someone worth keeping alive. Worth keeping around. Someone...reliable.]
I'm quite fond of liberty. I moved to America, after all. ['murrica, land of the free and home of the rude. Though that's everywhere, really.] This place is hardly fitting to continue on much further, I would say. Perhaps you could come to dinner one night. Not where I am now, of course—it's too, ah. Too unequipped compared to what I'm used to. Later, perhaps. Or if you have your own well-stocked place, I could cook there, if you would allow it. A full show, of course.
[Leaning back just slightly, he observes to see how the offer goes over before adding:]
You purchase what you'd like, I'll prepare it for you. I can use anything you could bring home. And then we could talk at length. Is this of interest to you?

The idea was a bit exciting.]
We can't at my place. [Eddie is a narcissist, but not utterly incapable of feeling for other people. His thoughts summon Felicia, and how he would rather not involve her in his new game.] ImPort in a position of policy, you know, I've got the press practically stalking my known locations. Perhaps I ought to feel flattered -- but we've already at least briefly discussed how cringe-worthy so many of those tabloids are. They might get the wrong idea.
[While technically true, Eddie wasn't a man to fear the press. He just didn't need his company knowing that.]
Is this just a method to get me in a private room for questioning? I'm not averse either way, mind.

[Not "out of you"—no, no, far too easy to come across as Hannibal trying to assert control. Better to be from him, because it implied that Edward would be the one giving. Hannibal would take, but he'd show him that he could compromise. He'd take what Edward was willing to give. Not that he had a clue of what powers the man had in his arsenal, but Hannibal...on his own, he was capable of a great deal of violence.
How much might be spoken of in some other world was unknown to him. He meant to unravel the story, this other him, even if it meant admitting that he was out of element in some way. It wasn't bending to his will, confessing that he was disadvantaged. Some might claim he was disadvantaged by the way that he was insane, but this "they" could hardly understand insanity like Hannibal with his great depth of knowledge on the human mind.]
Privately would be preferred. I'll understand if this other Hannibal you speak of, this serial...what you said...puts you off from that idea.
If you have no great disdain for the first offered housing—which I also understand if you do—then the one I have been given is perfectly suitable, I do believe. It all depends on what you find the most [palatable] agreeable.

[He waves away his hand, like it was nothing. It was better to come out about it, now, lest Hannibal do his own research on Eddie -- which Eddie was sure he would. It was better that Eddie himself control the first exposure of his own past.]
But the people I work with, well, they're not as experienced as myself. Whatever wrong idea the press might get, it would impact them as well -- through me, of course.
As for the MAC -- [He shrugged.] Needless to say, I don't live there anymore. Perhaps it would be nice to visit.
[It's obvious he disdains it. But all imPorts start somewhere, and in this case the location isn't as crucial as the company.]

[That gets a quirk of his lips, a man who's more amused at recollections than amused at the fact of the matter that this fellow seems to be including him in such a category. How much does he know, who is this other Hannibal Lecter, and how far can he press before Edward thinks he knows that the Hannibal from his world is indeed the one standing before him?
It could be good to have someone know of it, but only someone Hannibal chooses—only someone who is worthy. But he can't choose anyone until he knows, in depth, who this other Hannibal Lecter is.
The way in which he's told will, ultimately, decide how rude he finds this E. Nygma (of course he'd pick up on that, even if the spelling isn't quite there in his head just yet). Rude or trustworthy, or potentially both?]
I can assure you that I am very murderous company within the MAC. [A moment of silence, just to see his reaction.] I can't stand a roach in a kitchen, and I'm not one to keep harsh chemicals around in the name of pest control.
