Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D.
Errrrrr..... I'm not sure how many people are aware of this comic? But my teacher gave us a heads up about it.
On iTunes right now they have (I think exclusively, but who knows) the new Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D. series going (with Bendis and Maleev). It's $9 for a 'season pass' (I assume that means the whole volume/series?) or $2 per episode. Seems alright though the voice acting ...kinda makes me laugh at times, personally. They're trying too hard to be gritty. The art is really nice though, the whole moving-graphic style like the Watchmen motion-comic (no speech bubbles in this one though, just voice acting). The previews only let you see the intro to the comic so you can't, you know, actually preview any of it but my teacher showed us the episode he downloaded and it looks very nice. Can't say anything for the story so far since we only got to watch maybe... a minute of it.
To get to it, either search Spider Woman or navigates tabs: TV Shows > Animation > Spider Woman MARVEL
In the wake of that other series posted a lil further down, I'm wondering now if this Spider Woman series will end up interconnecting with it....
Anyone know more about it than I do? x___X
EDIT: They also have previews up on youtube but I assume there's some sort of file protection on the full episodes to prevent them from actually being uploaded from iTunes, as I haven't found them on there yet.

I love the art, but holy overacting, Batman.

It's been in delays forever, the first issue of the comic came out Wednesday. The idea is that you can pick it up in the motion comic with the voice acting (which I agree is pretty overdone) or just in issues like a normal comic.
Idk. Not sure what I'm supposed to be commenting on here, I've been following the series since it was announced years ago.

It was only brought to my attention on Tuesday, but I hear they've been hyping it hollowly through all the delays?
I mean, what I'm wondering is what exactly they're suggesting is the pro-con between the motion comic and the book itself? Surely they're not thinking people will buy both... I mean, any costs saved from distribution are being spent in voice acting and animating, right? I just can't figure out what they're trying to accomplish with this kind of release X_x

Hollowly?
I think they have no idea whether or not there's a market for "motion comics" and personally I'm not very interested. If I wanted flash animation on my computer, I'd go to newgrounds or whatever-- I like my comics in print, I like holding them, so that's how I'm gonna be following Spider-woman. Some people will buy both, though, same principle as variant covers.

...You know I have no idea what I meant when I typed that. Uhhhhh but I think I meant to say something along the lines of annoyingly? I have no idea LOL I've felt fluish all day so I prolly typed that while half conscious. orz
Yeah, that seems to be the consensus of the people I've talked to about it in class. It just feels like they're trying to shill it as a new gimmick but it sorta fails in either direction (as an animation/comic). I have a feeling it won't last long...

And uh, the first issue of the comic was good. And it's Bendis/Maleev, which is an A+ Eisner winning creative team with the proven ability to sell books. Now, Jessica Drew isn't an A-list character, and they've squandered the momentum from Secret Invasion via delays, but she is on New Avengers, which is the #1 superhero book, so she's getting promotion that way. I don't like the idea of "motion comics" in general, and who knows what the sales will be for the comic, we don't have data on it yet, but I don't think it's in any way half-assed.
