To the comics community here, Perry Moore (Hero) and Dwayne McDuffie (JLU, Static Shock) have recently passed away.
METROID SHARING TIEM

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING. "Canon sharing? For Metroid? What're you gonna share, a video of a wall getting bombed for two hours to find a pack with 5 missiles in it? Dumbass." well that's a very hurtful thing to say. Also, no. Metroid isn't like, the Citizen Kane of gaming (although people have made the comparison, weirdly enough), but there are, in actuality, no less than four manga and two comics that were made to tie in with various Metroid games throughout the series. And because they're all worth something in their own way and two of them are really funny, I'm going to share them now! ( HUGE CUT WITH LINKS AND INFO )
Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D.

Errrrrr..... I'm not sure how many people are aware of this comic? But my teacher gave us a heads up about it.
On iTunes right now they have (I think exclusively, but who knows) the new Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D. series going (with Bendis and Maleev). It's $9 for a 'season pass' (I assume that means the whole volume/series?) or $2 per episode. Seems alright though the voice acting ...kinda makes me laugh at times, personally. They're trying too hard to be gritty. The art is really nice though, the whole moving-graphic style like the Watchmen motion-comic (no speech bubbles in this one though, just voice acting). The previews only let you see the intro to the comic so you can't, you know, actually preview any of it but my teacher showed us the episode he downloaded and it looks very nice. Can't say anything for the story so far since we only got to watch maybe... a minute of it.
To get to it, either search Spider Woman or navigates tabs: TV Shows > Animation > Spider Woman MARVEL
In the wake of that other series posted a lil further down, I'm wondering now if this Spider Woman series will end up interconnecting with it....
Anyone know more about it than I do? x___X
EDIT: They also have previews up on youtube but I assume there's some sort of file protection on the full episodes to prevent them from actually being uploaded from iTunes, as I haven't found them on there yet.

Well yesterday was the kick-off of DC's new massive crossover event, Blackest Night. For those of us who've only suffered the loss of beloved minor characters, this will be interesting. For those of you who loved the sparkling personalities in Superbuddies.
I'm so sorry.
( They're like zombies, but IN SPACE )

So. So. Guess what came out today. No really, guess.
Yep. GOTHAM CITY SIRENS, issue one. How'd you guess?
I have a few choice pages to share, with my inevitable commentary. Dini is, of course, quite the fabulous writer and I sincerely recommend buying the book. Especially if you like Gothamites with wayward morals and the amazing that goes with it.
Still interested?

( I’m not a fan of Arthur Brown’s daughter, but I can’t say there won’t be a few SPOILERS )

This is all Jill's fault. All of it.

Anyone who's talked to me about comics for more than five minutes, well, I make it no secret that I'm in it for the villains. I judge heroes by how they handle their antagonists and I seek out the nuances behind the philosophy and psychology of what makes a person behave a certain way. It's fun.
There's a huge variety of people with moral ambiguity within comics. Some of it is done very, very well. Some of it... Not so much. But it's a variety I can appreciate, for multiple reasons. Because, let's face it, not every villain is going to be idealistic or actually capable. The dangerous ones will attract the big gun heroes. The relatively comical ones will tend to get a miniseries that's an offshoot of Final Crisis.
WARNING: THIS IS PRETTY MUCH JUST ME TALKING A LOT AND SHOWING OFF SOME COMICS SCANS.
( And here I thought Condiment King was dead. )

Okay, so tomorrow is Wednesday and that’s when all my lovely comics come out. Suffice to say, it’s been a bit of a dry period for me. But there is one comic I am looking forward to above all else. ABOVE. ALL. ELSE.
BftC: THE UNDERGROUND
Why, you ask?

( Come now, that's not even a riddle. )
