WRITING MEME all caps mean it's exciting

HEY JERKFACES
Remember that one time someone posted a writing meme and we all wrote stuff and we read them and it was good?

LET'S HAVE ANOTHER WRITING MEME

I'm sleepy so I'm not making this pretty, plus I hate you guys, you deserve nothing pretty. The run down of this classic meme I have chosen:

1) OPEN UP YOUR MUSIC PLAYER PUT IT ON SHUFFLE
2) FIRST FIVE SONGS THAT COME UP USE THEM TO WRITE FIVE STORIES INVOLVING CNC
3) I WAS TRYING TO MAKE MINE IN UNDER 200 WORDS, BUT I DON'T REALLY CARE HOW LONG YOU MAKE IT
4) THEY CAN BE SEPARATE, THEY CAN BE 5 PARTS OF A WHOLE STORY, THEY CAN BE ABOUT ONE CHARACTER OR ONE FOR EACH OF YOUR CHARACTERS, WHATEVER STRIKES YOU.
5) POST
6) READ

Okay. How does that sound? Excellent. Get to work.

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain

He had no idea what to do with this. What do you do when you're talking to someone right after you died? Dying seemed to be par for the course for the other people in the City, but for him...it was strange. Death was final, why did this change?

As he saw her, a small smile played on his face. God, he would screw this up. He knew it already. He was awful at any sort of emotion, any sort of expression. His words would just go to mush.

"Hey."

"Hey."

There was a pause. An awkward, awful pause, the sort of pause that seemed to last forever. And then she started crying. Tears started running down her face, she ran up to him and hugged him. Not knowing what to do, he patted her on the back.

Yeah, Billy thought as he looked at the crying Lorna. This would work. At least until his tongue unstuck itself from his throat.

2. Dancing Queen

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the dancing queen

There was a certain power that the music gave Alison. Well, aside from the obvious of course. But being up on stage, singing loudly, pouring her heart out in the music...that was a different power. And she loved it.

She loved the constant struggles with electrical equipment. She loved applying her make-up fifteen seconds before the show because she forgot her eyeliner. She loved going over her music in her head and practicing in the shower. She loved hearing the owner announcer her name. And headlining this evening...Alison Blaire! It was wonderful.

The best part? Undoubtably when she finished singing and started walking around on the floor, waiting for the next act to start. There would always be that one guy who came up to her and said 'hey, weren't you that girl who was singing? You did awesome!' That one, cute guy.

Well, on reflection, the music was probably the best part. But the cute guy was pretty damn close.

3. The Tide Is High

I'm not the kind of girl
Who gives up just like that

Harvey loved Rachel. Of course he loved Rachel. She was everything he wanted. Smart, funny, gorgeous, dedicated, and willing to fight for what she wanted. She was the one person he wanted to spend his life with. Hell, he had already proposed to her.

And yet, there was a small, little part of him that turned cartwheels every time Domino showed up. It was small and pretty much buried away most of the time, but he just couldn't help but stare slightly when she shot a gun. He loved Rachel, of course he did, but Domino...Domino was something else.

It never really crossed Harvey's mind that she was married. That probably explained the creepy feeling that someone was watching him whenever he talked to her.

4. Kiss On My List

You think maybe I need help, no I know I'm right all right
I'm just better off not listening to friends' advice

Okay, so maybe he still wasn't used to this 'nobody here sings' sort of thing. And maybe he still had that little bit or musical logic that expressed powerful feelings in song. And maybe his self-esteem was a bit lower than he thought. And okay, so it was probably just her wanting to find out how humanity worked. And so yeah, she was a former robot.

But still. Asking GLaDOS out on a date totally merited some singing.

It just sucked that the hardware store cashier started laughing.
