Jono's starting to be friends with her in a way I don't think they were able to be in Gen-X, due to teenagery complexes and team dynamics. Now that they're thrown together, he's really starting to appreciate her as a friend and compatriot, and I think he has more room to consciously recognize their similarities now that he's not quite so self-absorbed as he was before ;)
