Quatre's still at a point where he wants to believe the best in anyone, including crazy psycho robots. Yes, Shockwave has shown some signs of being a psycho, but Quatre is friends with people like that back home. Heero threatens to kill anyone that stays still long enough and let's not even get started on what Trowa's done. So yeah, he wants to concentrate on the good that he sees in Shockwave, like the curiosity that doesn't extend to idk cutting people open while they're conscious, y'know?
