Alex has, in his own black-and-white way, pegged Selina in his head as definitely a good guy. He appreciates what she's doing with setting up the orphanage/shelter even if he doesn't understand why she isn't taking the credit for it. She strikes him as the independent loner type and a bit of an enigma, but he sees her as a useful ally and a kind-of friend.
