Emma, you are about the closest thing Jono had to a mother figure when he was a teenager, what with the whole estranged-from-family thing going on after he manifested.

That having been said, he deeply respects you and wants your approval, at the same time as not wanting much at all to do with the X-men and realizing that both you and he have moved on to different paths. All part of growing up, I guess? Coupled with this is the little bit of incredulity and suspicion left over from Gen-X days; Jubes of course filled him in on past misdeeds, and the erratic behaviour towards the end of Gen-X and the constant underlying motives and games going on behind the scenes... it all combines to make him a bit wary. Who knows where Emma's loyalties lie now?
