In another half hour I'll have been up for twenty-four

Somehow that sounds like song lyrics.

Anyway, the point of this post is that I went to see Iron Man 2 despite my hellish day and it was pretty swell. I have no major complaints about the story, but a few nitpicky ones. RDJ played assholish alcoholic Tony as awesomely as ever. Rhodey was good, and I was worried cause I fear change. And Scarlett Johansson was oddly thin looking, but overall not bad.

So CnC, any of you been to see it and have thoughts to share with the class?

To innocent bystanders, beware that if you get me talking there will probably be spoilers. Sorry. Just sort of happens.

RIGHT? I mean, even the SHIELD agents could get in there with a few punches of a button.

Tony you know better than that!

I looooved the little teaser scene at the end of the credits. <3

And the movie was good, too.

I sat all through the film staring at Hammer wondering where I'd seen him before. Every time he spoke I was like RAGE WHERE YOU FROM?

Just near the end with his glasses off I was like

OMG WILD BILL FROM THE GREEN MILE

and I lived happily ever after

[identity profile] crackofthunder.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Sam Rockwell is glorious and he's been in lots and lots of movies and he's always great. He was Beeblebrox in Hitchhiker's Guide, and he was just in an amazing piece of indie sci-fi called "Moon" last year.

Everyone should love him.

[identity profile] taughttolisten.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
oh god i so want to bring in Angry Russian Physicist

except he's movie-only. ._.

(Also, lololololol at Jon Favreau casting himself as Happy. I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE)

also also

my one nitpick is this

seriously would it have killed them to lower those percentage numbers a little and have thirty seconds of exposition? because I'm fairly sure 89% blood toxicity means you are already dead and decomposing.
birdplane: (Default)

[personal profile] birdplane 2010-05-08 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
... That is completely valid.

When I had lead poisoning my blood toxicity was only at something like 15%, or so my doctor said, and I felt pretty darn bad.

As in, not being able to walk bad.

Tony Stark is secretly Superman. Drunk Superman.

[identity profile] sam-the-redhead.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I SAW IT LAST NIGHT/THIS MORNING.

and I loved it. Not as amazing as the first Iron Man, but definitely a worthy sequel.

The only thing that...well, I wouldn't say it bugged me (because it really didn't), but it did catch me off-guard was the whole end thing with Pepper.

[identity profile] bwhahahabeck.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
AGREED ON THE ENDING

[identity profile] crackofthunder.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen it twice now and enjoyed it, although it doesn't have quite the same WHEEEE sort of fun as the first Iron Man did. But it's still a blast, and better the second time.

I LOVE SUITCASE ARMOR. I've always liked the whole Red/Silver look anyhow. I'm glad they made it work. And I'd watch RDJ read the menu at a sushi joint.

[identity profile] anthraxpretzels.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL I LIKE HOW HE USED CAP'S SHIELD TO PROP UP THAT COLLIDER

also appreciating the more action scenes

[identity profile] bwhahahabeck.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
HAPPY HAD MORE SCENES AND THAT MADE ME HAPPY

[identity profile] grenadeball.livejournal.com 2010-05-08 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY REALLY SHOULD'VE NARROWED THE FOCUS SOME

SHOULD HAVE GIVEN MORE TIME TO ROURKELASH

DO NOT WANT THEM TO DROP INTO SPIDER-MAN 3 TERRITORY OF TOO MANY VILLAINS HERE
