Hey lawyerly folk!

Seems we've got a bit of a deadline to start this trial, as prosecution's star witness Sentinel Prime is set up to have some serious crap go down starting Friday.

If it's possible, I'd like to set up the trial to run concurrently with that stuff, so we can get Sentinel's testimony lodged, but then the crazy stuff goes down in SP's other plot that will cast a serious bunch of suspicion on his reliability and character, allowing for a much more credible defense and add to Sentinel's mess!

Can we make this happen?

OMFG I just saw this on the news and had to report it to you lovely people who might actually care.

There's an open casting call tomorrow in Milwaukee (read: one hour from me) for extras to be in Transformers 3.

They're looking for "trendy executive types" so I'm pretty much not even remotely eligible but OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Apparently they're shooting some scenes in Milwaukee, too.

So apparently there's a new Transformers videogame, as in, not a tie-in game to the movie coming out. Thing is...

It...

actually looks good.

It's supposed to be a Gears of War style FPS game, and take place in its own continuity, though said continuity is largely going to be inspired by G1 (mostly Dreamwave's War Within comic book series). I was skeptical.

I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT THAT IS PRETTY AWESOME ~~also much nicer looking than Michael Bay amirite~~

also given that this continuity is supposed to be like "upgraded G1" I am all "That is totally what Cybertron actually looks like y'all."

So, because some people in OOC asked, uh...

I. I'm a hideous person. I hold that language is an extremely fundamental part of someone's culture, and the structure of a language can tell you a lot about the culture they grew up in. Thus, I started to think about what sort of language Cybertronian is anyway. For instance, despite the fact that there are "Femmes" and "mechs" in several continuities, these things don't scan directly to "male" and "female" as we know them since Cybertronians don't reproduce sexually; thus, such a language wouldn't have gender pronouns. And then I went "it is however a pretty damn stratified society, particularly for 'cons which have had a military structure for millions of years.

S-so I created this. Orz. It's the barest beginnings of a conlang. It's far from complete and probably completely wrong especially since I don't know jack about IPA notation. Also, since this was mooostly done to alleviate my own boredom, it focuses on G1 (s-sorry animooted, beast wars, and movieverse casts!) Also, this isn't based on anything official other than my own insane ramblings, so... no, Hasbro hasn't actually made a conlang, they usually just use funny symbols that are actually English.

so I just had a strange realization, while mulling over Autobot society and trying to wrap my head around the way OP thinks about the world. This mostly pertains to Animooted, but from what I can tell, G1, Beast Wars and Bayformers are all similar.

1. In Animated, Autobots spend the first few weeks of their life in boot camp, learning how to use their abilities.

2. Boot camp ends in placement somewhere in the great Autobot machine - you either go to academy or you get sent out to do civvy work like repairing bridges or working on energon farms

3. Protoforms are specifically designed with a certain purpose in mind - OP's box notes say that he is built for fire fighting.

4. The Animated Decepticons are mentioned to be fighting against Autobot Tyranny - whether this is just Megatron's proselytizing or the truth is very ambiguous

5. the whole society is run by the military

6. propaganda posters go up EVERYWHERE once Sentinel becomes the Supreme Commander

Guys?

I think the Autobots are communists. Not just socialists, as has been suggested elsewhere, but honest-to-god Red as Russia dirty commies.

Andrew's actor is in the movie Transformers.

Are any of our robots from movie-canon, or are they all from other series?

Because it would almost be beautiful if they were.

If you missed out on the memo, my mother is kind of awesome. She also prints things (the Seven Pounds poster is the biggest thing I remember recently). So do you know what my mother printed.

Okay so now that I have done most of my duty kind of things, I can merge with Spam again and make you all want to unwatch the comm.

So I've kind of been organizing a C&C fanmix, which I am probably not going to post because it is A) incredibly vague so as to include as many characters as possible, because my original intent was to give people more things for their own mixes because IDK I LIKE BEING HELPFUL??? and B) OVER SIXTY SONGS LONG FHKASJHDF.

But I was going through my library and heard the first two lines of this and screamed because this wasn't on my playlist yet and I didn't know why and that somehow infuriated me. Even if I do put the mix up this won't be on it because it's too specific and everyone but me is sick to death of robots.
