more DC reboot news...

Some Batman news here. Looks like Bruce is the only Batman and Robin is... Damian! I wonder if he'll still be Talia's kid.

Also:

Batgirl cover (no more Oracle?)
Nightwing cover (looks more like Dick than Jason to me...)
Catwoman cover (yay!)

Discuss/rant/etc?

Wait it's not a reboot?

I thought it was a reboot.

I think it was in one of Harras' mailouts where he said, 'This is not a reboot. This is a relaunch.'? Also, JMS got told off for calling it a reboot in an interview. He also basically pointed the finger of blame for the rewhatever at DiDio.

Then WTF with Barbara and them saying everyone was younger and crap? Does this mean Damian isn't Bruce and Selina's kid?

I'll see what Geoff Johns and Jim Lee say at the panel on the 11th, I guess. I'LL TAKE NOTES.

Their whole deal with this seems to be that they're trying to tailor the DCU to people coming into it from other media, and the flawed logic is that everyone outside of comics identifies Batgirl with Barbara Gordon and adhering to that will sell them more comics. They're also overhauling characters like Mr. Terrific and Hawkman, presumably to make them more palatable for movie adaptations.

Ask very intrusive questions and don't take 'wait and see' for an answer. :|
