It's serious poll is serious time again, C&C. This time I have an inquiry of a more metatastical nature than usual. And I am anxious to hear your answers, double spaced or no!

What do you like best about playing your characters? What do you like least, or find most challenging? As always this is mostly just an opportunity to indulge tl;dr instincts. If you want to babble on about dropped characters, or prospective characters I will do the opposite of stop you.

YEP the inevitable suikocharacter headcanoning you have to do is, I find, both blessing and curse. Because even if character backstories aren't always super fleshed out it is a really deep worldbuild.

Yeah, exactly. You have to balance your headcanon against the worldbuild - a place where the most advanced technology is elevator gears, magic has extremely strict laws of its own physics unless you're Sarah or Leknaat, and the food is rather sophisticated considering the world's own limitations of spice trade and agriculture. :D

I always look for the little things revealed in, say, the comment boxes or the NPCs if you actually wander around and talk to them. Part of that whole facet of characterization - it's not just what characters say directly, but what other characters say about them behind their backs.

I agree they are such delicious RP fodder... I have spent much time overanalyzing them.

There are a lot of Suikoden characters nobody plays.

But I'm always surprised (in a good way!) at the characters some people do play.

I know, I was always pleasantly surprised at some of the characters that would pop in at suiko_rpg.

I mean, I'm probably the only person who's ever played Skald Egan. XD
