Ok, so, questions! What would your character consider their best/happiest memory? What would be their worst? Would their opinions of events be different from what you, as a player, would consider the happiest/saddest moments in their canon? What about in game?

KARA's happiest memory is probably something with her Earth family, like that giant Christmas they had together at the farm after Conner came back from the dead. She would probably say it was discovering her parents still alive, but there's too much that came after that with her mom for that to really be her best memory. Her worst is a tie between her father dying in her arms and then discovering her mother torturing Reactron beneath her father's grave and the subsequent two hours. Especially since those two hours involved New Krypton blowing up and then her going to war against the last of her people. HER LIFE P MUCH SUCKS.

In the City, her best memory is probably one with Terry in it because they were adorable and happy and teased each other all the time. Worst is probably finding out Dick died.

JIM's best memory is when Pike told him his father would be proud of him. His worst memory is pretty much anything having to do with Tarsus IV or his brother Sam running away from home. In the City, his best memory is probably cow tipping with Sulu askljdfsd. Worst... IDK. Maybe hallucinating hamster!Bones because that was just fucking weird for him.

GWEN's best memory is something that never really happened on panel, but it's probably the first time she thought of Peter and Aunt May as family and realized they weren't going to leave her. She'd probably say her happiest memory is something with her dad back when she was little. Her absolute worst memory is probably a tie between dying, her mother telling her that she wasn't wanted, or her imprisonment in the Triskelion when SHIELD was doing all their poking and prodding and tests and stuff on her. She'd probably say finding out her dad died is her worst memory.

Best memory in the City is probably something really stupid involving Jess and Johnny. Which is... pretty much everything with them lkjsadfds. Worst memory is definitely finding out Peter's dead. She's no where even close to getting over that yet.

CAROL's best memory is probably the day she got let back onto the Avengers after she'd been kicked out because of her alcoholism. She'd claim it's something else, but I'm not exactly sure what. It's a little difficult to think of what it could be, considering that the majority of her memories are ones she's not really attached to anymore, so it's probably something involving the Avengers. Worst memory is everything having to do with Marcus. She'd say it was, too.

Her best memory in the City is probably the conversation where she asked Peter out and the little victory dance she did after they stopped talking. Worst memory is anything having to do with finding out friends are/were dead.

SUSAN's best memory was being crowned Queen Susan the Gentle. She would claim it's some silly little thing with her entire family back before the war because she's still very NO NARNIA DOENS'T EXIST. Her worst memory is definitely getting the news about the train crash. And she hasn't been in the City long enough for me to answer the other question. 8(

vic's best memory could be when dinah finally convinced him that jackie wanted him to take care of her, the idea that maybe he could raise a kid. except that it didn't really work out that way.
maybe that year in canada, some nebulous moment when he finally felt like he was getting what richard was trying to teach him.

there are a lot of contenders for worst memories! jackie dying, walking out on helena, and he still has nightmares about being locked in the box when he was little.

in game his best memory was realizing he could suddenly breathe again. his worst was probably meeting a helena only to realize she's someone else entirely.

hank has more happy moments under his belt to refer to
helping to discover a cure for the legacy virus probably among the highest, though it's also weighed under the costs that cure came at, particularly moira's and piotr's deaths.

his worst are almost all associated with dark beast. i mean the guy has locked him away with only a little water for weeks, dragged his ethics through the mud in an attempt to understand what caused the mutant decimation, and put him through intense enough torture to inspire him to quit the x-men. being through all that and still having to see the same face in the mirror every day is just no good.

in-game he's mostly had good memories though. best among them being finding a school already established, eventually being named headmaster of that school, his first kiss with amanda. the worst was probably back in january when he kind of had a nervous breakdown? scott became co-headmaster of the school again, reality was coming apart at the seams, his own shadow was starting to haunt him. he ended up having to get out of the country for a few weeks just to settle.

alex is too much of a cynic to consider many of his recent memories positive. even the ones that were pleasant have later carried a negative sheen, but that was mostly his own fault for being a manipulative jerk. maybe some when he was younger. canon gives us a lot of shots of alex being happy as a little tyke. welcoming the gibborim to hell might at least be his most satisfying memory.

his worst? nico turning him down for being a jerk. also spending a year alone in hell.

his happiest in-game memories usually result from being drunk? there's a handwaved event that jill and i never got around to logging where he and allison just chilled on the roof of the mac with a bottle of wine after she graduated. he had a pretty decent time drunkenly hanging out with reilly during the beach party, as well. his worst was probably getting caught at the end of kidweek, and having to tip-toe afterwards since he knew rose could be watching at any time. it was easier after he realized she didn't really care, though.

he's got much worse ahead of him. at least he was able to keep the information contained that time.

kanaya's happiest memories are all of her mother. she had the best fucking lusus you guys. one mentioned in canon was on twelfth perigee's eve, they had a quiet night in while kanaya read stories to her grubmom. probably stories about vampires in love.

there are many contenders for worst memory, but all of them pale in the face of the matriorb being destroyed. with that died all of kanaya's hopes and ambitions, her final connection to her mother, her very purpose. after that she almost didn't mind dying.

in-game she has a few fond memories. prom was a lot of fun, and everything involving the magazine, as well as working with jade to help evacuate the endangered residents of the aleutian islands and getting to be a hero without anyone getting hurt. worst memory might be having dave tell everyone about her crush on rose, though it was no walk in the park when gamzee ripped her arm off, either.

I think I've been saying that the liberation of Paris is Bucky's favorite thing. That's some headcanon, I guess, but it would have been the closest he got to the feeling of winning the war, and he got to meet up with old friends, etc.

His worst memory is when his dad died. Bucky was in trouble and his dad promised to come home and lecture him that night, but, nope.

DO I REALLY WANT TO THINK ABOUT WHAT LUST WOULD CONSIDER A FAVORITE MEMORY
yes i do

What she'd consider her happiest memory would have to be something most likely headcanony and long in the past, though! It's probably a really hideous moment of accomplishment--making a really satisfying kill or torturing valuable information out of someone particularly hard to crack, maybe, and then Father telling her she'd done good afterward. She really likes her work, okay. Her worst moment was, obviously, that point where she was still getting hideously burnt to death but hadn't yet started to dissipate into the air and be all zen "it could be worse ps you're going blind in sixty issues heh" as she died. Burning all over is painful and makes you feel helpless, guys! You heard it here first. And in-game, she's had so much time to think about how she's dead and not coming back that the pleasanter edge it had when she knew it was the end has been pretty much taken off.

In the City, honestly, the best was either that time when she and Knives went on their first date murderspree or when Gluttony showed up. Killing Selina was satisfying and gave her a sense of closure, but it was too brief and caused too much drama later on! Or maybe... it was when she walled Knives............. that lovely child-friendly memory...

The worst in-game memory she has is, unqualifiedly, Gluttony porting out while crying and not knowing what was going on, probably screaming for her to help him, etc. It affected her a lot more than she'd ever be willing to admit, even to herself because all homunculi are emotionally constipated--and ICly she'd probably say her worst moment was being tossed off a building by the Joker or kept in a tube by Eddie for that exact reason--and because she hadn't been ported out yet, it was bonus disturbing because she realized that was exactly what was going to happen to her when she left. She's pretty keenly aware of her status as the only existing person from "her world" currently in the City, and every time someone leaves it's severing her connection to that world even further. For someone with such an investment in her work and #winning in Amestris and so on, that's incredibly unsettling!

KATE's happiest memory I headcanon...ed is the trip to London with her family when she was eleven. I imagine it was one of the last family-oriented trips she had before they had to move again and it means a lot to her since a year later her mom would be murdered and sister disappeared.

Her worst? UHH is a THREE WAY tie between the kidnapping and murders, being kidnapped again as an adult and stabbed in the chest (she was drugged the second time and kind of out of it, also it caused her to vividly remember the kidnapping in Brussels and lots of horrible/terrifying feelings) AND discovering Alice was Beth all along seconds before "letting her" fall and drown in Gotham harbor. Yeah, I really can't decide between these... since they're each extreme and affected her greatly.

GIL's happiest memory (in current... canon/life time/I'm ignoring the thing with Jack/Glen wtfever happened 100 years ago) is probably one of his birthdays he had when he was a kid at the Vessalius. He actually doesn't know his own birth date and has never celebrated it, most likely the first one he got to "celebrate" when Oz declared it would be the day he became his servant. Or was it found in the Vessalius gardens. Ah, well. Up until then, he didn't even bother with giving himself a special day and then his best friend did. He also got a pen he still owns back home, I believe?

Worst memory is easily the night Oz got shoved into the Abyss. It pretty much killed Gil on the inside, haunted even till now, and didn't help with his separation anxiety. :/

Garrus would probably say being accepted into C-Sec, orsaving the world, or -- any number of duty-related items would make him happy. Seriously, though, the destruction of the Normandy and loss of Shepard? NIGHTMARES FOREVER.

Snape's happiest memory is that first day on the Platform, having Lily take his hand, and head into the train together. Canon already tells us what his Worst Memory is - losing her to his own stupidity.

Roxanne's worst memory is seriously watching Megamind bounce around cheering about MURDERING HER FRIEND... though that is threatened by the mwemory of finding out that friend ABANDONED them, didn't have the grace to let her know his doubts/wants, and just-- fucked off. Metro Man's been a huge part of her life, and both his death and his betrayal really hurt her. Her BEST memory is ...probably something work related; a great accomplishment, or something with family.

Raph's worst memory is nearly beating his own brother to death with a wrench when he really lost it under stress, with a follow up 'jesus christ someone stuck my dad's body in a tube how dare they' and nearly flipped out AGAIN. He's got no real 'stand out' happy memories, just --contentment with his family mostly.

I LOVE QUESTIONS

Sanji's best memories are little things - being told (not to his face) that Zeff and the other cooks respected him, seeing the Sky Islands, his love-at-first-sight moment with Nami, seeing Nami naked in the bath at the palace in Alabasta...okay that one is probably #1. His worst is every minute spent on that rock slowly starving to death, and seeing the others banished off Sabaody by Kuma before he himself was sent off. I'd personally add to that the end of Thriller Bark, because it was pretty traumatic but he gets over things like that pretty easily. In game? God. IDK THERE'S SO MUCH. Best might be getting his boat, worst might be...Liadrin dying?

Alastair doesn't have a lot of good memories. Maybe just the memory of his mother and brother. Worst is definitely seeing his brother killed right in front of him. In-game he's had the same luck, few good memories aside from time spent with people he cares about, Kiryu and Bakura and a few others. Worst is Kiryu dying while riding on the back of his motorcycle.

Geddoe also has few good memories. But he's got so many years on him that it wouldn't be a surprise that a lot of memories have just faded away. Victory in war is only a best by virtue of, it didn't suck. It's not necessarily happy. Worst is either losing the Rune for the space of a couple of days or watching Wyatt die. In-game, he hasn't done much in the way of happy things...maybe drinking with Zelgadis. And gee I think it's pretty clear now he'll carry the memory of killing Zel as his WORST EVER.

Ghost's happiest memories are working for Omnisapient back before the world he went totally crazy - he says it was the pinnacle of his happiness. Important job, respected by his colleagues, dating a lady he loved, everything was fab.

Then they murdered her and tried to murder him, and things went downhill from there. Probably his worst memory is his 'death' because it had a profound affect on him and pushed him over the edge to his costumed crusade. After that, he seems to take a lot of stuff in stride.

In the City, he's got pleasant memories of storming the Vulcanus base at Højere and assisting Candy - he really enjoyed that whole encounter.

Sad moments are when his frands keep being Ported out. :C and after four months and some change he's starting to suspect he's stuck.

Veronica: Happiest memory? My guess is either a time she was happy with Christine, or a time she was being mentored by Father Elijah before he went crazy. Or maybe the time she punched Legate Lanius in the face, but that was my game and not scripted in canon.

Worst memory would be when the hardline Brotherhood paladins slaughtered a room full of Good Samaritan types, including a bunch of wounded and the doctors who were caring for them, just because they saw her talking to them. Coming in second would probably be Christine leaving.

I don't think I'd see it much different from Veronica in this case.

Maggie: Maggie's tough, because in canon, the sisters cite their happiest memory is when they met---which they then realize is actually false memory implanted in her mind. And I can say, one of her worst memories is probably realizing her happiest memory is fake.

And then I'd say from THERE her happiest memory is now when her sisters decided they were going to remain sisters anyway.
anagrammatist: (So now I'm standing here alone)

Tom: his happiest memory back home is a three-way tie between Dumbledore telling him he's a wizard, finally finding the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets, and successfully making a Horcrux. The Horcrux one would probably win out if he actually remembered the whole thing.

His worst memory is also a tie between finally deciding that his father was not a wizard and meeting his wizard uncle, who was beyond disappointing. Actually no. Those both still suck, but Harry killing his basilisk was worse.

In the City, his favorite moment so far is probably meeting Sherlock Holmes. Worst memory is a tie between two very bad ones: meeting a six-years-older-than-she-should-be Ginny and Snape telling him he knows all about the Horcruxes. Everything else so far pretty much pales to those.

Kiryu: Kiryu's happiest memory from home is successfully taking over all of Satellite with his team. His worst memory is still the night where he got arrested and he thought for years that it was because Yuusei sold him out. He doesn't think that anymore, but that night was still terrible.

In the City, his happiest memory is a tie between this awkward night when he and Alastair finally said the l-word to each other and his duel with Yuusei last spring. His worst memory is hands down helping Saitou commit suicide after Cavil tortured him for four days. Even his own deaths and torture pale to that.

Happy - probably a few of the nice moments he had with Michelle and Zoe, when he was legitimately making an attempt to go straight.

Worst - Has to be discovering what had happened to his son.

In game? He hasn't had all that much in either direction yet.

This is really cheesy but Lua's such a romantic that I feel compelled to say that her best memory is getting engaged to Ladd. And worst would be probably pretty much everything that happened before meeting him? I can't imagine she had a very good life if she's willing to give it up so easily.

Oh, amnesia sure makes answering this question hard...

I'm going to go ahead and start with Astral's worst memories because that's easier. Almost all of them with the exception of his mother are pretty bad. Astral has saw firsthand his world being destroyed! With thousands and thousands of astral people screaming in pain and agony! His other unhappy memory is earth blowing up! He doesn't know why he has a memory of that, it really freaks him out. As for current canon memories, he will never bring up No.96 taking control of him! Mostly because uh... Look, the scene in general? I have no clue how the heck ZEXAL got that past the radar!!! I MEAN, I KNOW, IT'S JAPAN. BUT... NO. I'm sadistic and want to see what 4kids is going to do with it.

He also didn't like re-learning fear the hard way, staring down a dragon that is likely made of dead astral people. And almost dying too. Yep...

His least favorite City memory is Yuma bleeding everywhere during Cthulufest 2011! I haven't had a chance to post to the log just yet but I worked out with olesia what happened... I really do need to shove my side up there... I will backtag forever.

If I were playing from the manga, for happiest memories I could give you shit like "the first time he went to an amusement park." But I don't so I can't. Yuma calling him a friend is really his happiest memory in canon, despite a Kefka-clone almost killing them during this. He also really enjoyed going to ESPer Robin's set! Favorite City memory is Yuma returning... And him not being dead in Cthulufest 2011.

basically all his happy memories involve yuma because... that's the only time he's ever really experienced happiness... this kid is kind of tragic.

he wouldn't understand why he'd be happy around other people either because he gets... confused when Kotori calls him a friend too and he is like SHOULD I BE HAPPY OR WHAT???

Lyra's happiest memory would probably be the time she spent with Will after they fell in love.

Her worst would probably be the whole having her daemon grabbed and nearly cut away in Bolvangar incident.
