It just makes me really upset because I think they were trying to go for the whole feeling of an adopted kid wanting to find his biological mom? But Billy's parents are actually his biological parents. His mother gave birth to him and raised him his entire life. It's... really not the same thing. At all.
Even if he was adopted I'd think it was pretty telling in a not-so-good way that Billy goes straight to referring to Wanda as his mother with no qualifiers, and nary a word of the people who raised him.
Oh, totally. It's still a slap in the face to the people that raised him. But it is a little bit more understandable for a teenager who just found out he's adopted to want to find his biological parents and see where he comes from.
ON THE OTHER HAND... he's an Avengers fanboy, there's no way he doesn't already know loads about Wanda, so the story would still fall flat.
