this uh

actually developed out of a STRATEGY of rping tank girl, if that makes sense

i've been playing her for several years now, and i've played her in almost every LJ rp i've been in

and she would almost always have low comment counts in her threads from previous RPs, and i would try to figure out why

after piecing it together, there were a few factors i picked out as the most important ones:

1. HOLY FUCKING GOD IS SHE EVER AN OBSCURE CHARACTER
2. INTIMIDATING
3. 'She's really interesting, but I have no idea how to have my character approach/respond to her'

there wasn't much i could do about the first part, but 2 and 3 were something i could tackle

the problem with tank girl is, she's ICly intimidating and ICly crazy, and not in the usual kind of easy to reply to/bounce off of villain crazy way

like, if i apped sephiroth or whatever, not only would i have the bonus of everyone KNOWING who he is, but his whole killing people and plot to bring back mother and genocide and etc etc that's a kind of crazy that characters and players know how to respond to, right?

tank's crazy is more

dadaist?

she doesn't just insult people, she does it in a really strange way that involves historical and literary references, and she has a tendency to get really metaphorical and surreal with words, using a sort of thematic form of conversation instead of the standard back and forth

combine that kind of crazy with the insulting and you get, once again

'She's really interesting, but I wouldn't know how to have my character approach/respond to her'

(WHICH ALSO BECAME A FREQUENT COMMENT IN THE HMD MEMES HERE)

so my strategy became:

if i can't make tank more approachable ICly, because to have her just be... less crazy or intimidating or whatever would actually be OOC (at least i think so)

then i can't just post the normal amount of times and wait for people to reply to her

i have to post a FUCKTON and not just that, i have to reply to GODDAMN NEARLY EVERYONE ELSE'S THREADS

it looked to be the only way for her to build CR and get known in comms beyond just being the person that everyone OOCLY LIKES BUT HAS NO IDEA HOW TO TALK TO

is by MAKING other characters talk to her, by getting up all in their business

AND THAT'S WHY TANK HAS MORE POSTS TO THE MAIN COMM THAN ANYONE ELSE (I THINK)
