Actually, I just asked and well I was cop back in my world before I became a vampire so that helped a little.

I hadn't expected the criteria would be so lenient! On our planet, a troll would be submitted to rigorous testing before being admitted to the role of a legislacerator.

We don't take just anybody, but things move faster than they would normally because we're so shorthanded. Not as much as when I joined though, but we still need a lot more officers.

No, I had to go through a lot of training to become a cop. Even then you still have to pass the tests to be accepted. It wasn't easy, but I did it and I'm very proud of it.

The standards aren't lax. The process is just sped up that's all.

You don't imagine that would have any sort of effect on the efficiency of it?

We've done alright and really it's just for import officers. Most of us didn't bring our documentation with us after all.

No, I imagine that would be difficult to do. I lacked my sylladex entirely on my arrival, and even were you to still possess it, it would require that you had the foresight to have captchalogued it prior to leaving.

But then, documentation of that sort has never been something I've had need of, so I'm unfamiliar with the etiquette common to its everyday storage.

I think we all have make do the best we can. I mean a lot of the natives knows us at least so that helps I guess.

What sort of awareness do you refer to? Is it that they're familiar with the police force by its general reputation?

No I mean the whole we're fictional thing. At least we were here until we started showing up.

Is that...a widely true fact? I know I've encountered some amount of fictional individuals, but, uh...

Um yeah. We're all supposed to be fictional. It's sort of bollocks I know, but I guess it's the different worlds thing. I mean James Bond is here and he's just a character in some movies and books in my world.

Yes, well, it's likewise with Edward Cullen on my own, though the version which arrived here isn't exactly a troll, which is consistent with the iteration of the literature that I've encountered on this planet.

The impression I've been given is of a gentleman far older than the age group he seems to prefer to interact with, but that is not entirely in conflict with his presentation in the novels.

I guess he could be called a gentleman though. He really is quite polite.

In a way, yes. But according to the source text, his legitimate age is in excess of a human century.

It's just wrong. I mean he's seen two world wars and he's still wanting to go to high school? Why? What's the point?

Well, given the way humans tend to age, he's certainly retained the type of appearance where one may not be aware of it without his disclosure.

But he still is that old and he's going to hang around high school kids! That doesn't seem odd to you at all?
